PrecisionHawk Drone Will Revolutionize How Farmers Improve Crops

You have to check out the video below to see just how futuristic and mind-boggilingly awesome this device is. It can snap ultra high definition photos of  a massive area that detect temperature indicating plant stress. No more are the days that the farmer would have to patrol each and every field himself.

Watch the video here.

This drone will not only save farmers time, it will also help them cut back on fertilizer, pesticides and other chemicals by providing hyper-detailed information. The drone can even tell whether the photos it’s taken are good enough and will upload the worthy ones to the cloud.

For more information about PrecisonHawk you can read this article by ModernFarmer or visit their website.

If you’re not a farmer but you still want to get a drone, I’ve compiled a list of resources below that can help you find the perfect one. Just to show how relevant drones have become recently, Gizmag dubbed 2013: The year of the drone.

My personal favourite on the low-end is the Darkwing for $167. It doesn’t come with a camera built into it but there is more then enough room and support to attach one if you were keen.

If you’ve got a little more cash to spend, I suggest picking up a Parrot AR.Drone 2.0 which will run you close to $300 but comes with a built in 720HD camera and can become its own wifi hotspot.
