This year's list of people to watch hail from a variety of industries, including real estate, health care, technology and transportation.
The Triangle Business Journal editorial team chose these 10 individuals – featured in the Jan. 2 print edition – based on their projected impact in the community in 2015.
6. Christopher Dean, PrecisionHawk CEO
Drones are already in the skies – flying over farmland in North Carolina, taking aerial shots of downtown Raleigh and soaring over engineers at N.C. State University-funded research sites. But, as far as the Federal Aviation Administration goes, most of what's happening is illegal, as it has yet to hammer out regulations for their commercial use.
