USAA, the financial services company whose members include U.S. military personnel and their families, becomes the first PrecisionHawk client to receive 333 Exemption from the FAA.
Last October, USAA was the first insurance provider to seek an exemption to test sUAS to help quickly settle insurance claims. Today the company announced that it has received FAA approval to fly the PrecisionHawk platform to develop best practices, as well as safety protocols, to improve post-catastrophe claims response.
Over the past few months our teams have worked closely to develop a plan for operational use of the PrecisionHawk UAS. We believe that this technology will help USAA members and make it safer for adjusters who are on-site after a natural disaster.
With this exemption, USAA becomes one of the first insurers approved to test this innovative technology. We look forward to enabling USAA with the tools to operate more efficiently and improve their members’ overall experience.
